Bengaluru: Sleuths from Central agencies and the Intelligence Bureau (IB) are said to have visited Hubballi City which witnessed violence last week over posting of objectionable content on social media, in the wake of reports that some banned organisations are behind these incidents.

Highly placed sources told News Trail that the agencies felt there is a definite pattern in the incidents of violence in DJ Halli in Bengaluru City, Shivamogga City and Hubballi last week. These incidents are quite similar to those happening in other parts of the country like stone pelting on the police, attack on police stations and damage of public property.

The sleuths fear that individuals from certain organisations are instigating people to create problems and disturb social harmony. The sleuths visited sensitive areas in Hubballi City and interacted with the local populace to find out what exactly happened. They reportedly collected evidence about the involvement of some banned organisations in the incident.

If sources are to be believed, the agencies have warned the state home department to be on high alert as there could be communal unrest in other districts in the coming days even on the slightest provocation. The banned outfits are learnt to have dispatched members to all communally sensitive states/districts/cities across the country to take the help of hardcore elements to create problems.

Ban on cards
The sources said the purpose of collecting evidence from different parts of the country Is to prepare a detailed file before imposing a ban. The Union Home Ministry has a list of organisations that are likely to be banned after their alleged involvement in the communal incidents is proved. The Karnataka unit of the IB is learnt to have sent a detailed report to Delhi about the similarities in the pattern of violence in different places. The visit of central agency sleuths is being kept a secret. ‘’They might have come and gone after a detailed study”, sources added.
