Bengaluru: Bengaluru Police have rescued four minor girls who had run away from their home in Bellary to take part in a Television-based talent show in the city.
According to the police, four girls including a 14-year-old, two 10-year-old and another six-year-old reportedly went missing from their home in Parvathi Nagar, Bellary, around 3 pm on Tuesday, after leaving a note to their parents requesting not to search for them.
"We are hoping to give you a surprise," they wrote before leaving their house, police said.
Worried about the safety of their kids, parents enquired for them at all possible places including their friends and relatives before seeking help from the social media platform.
The kids took a bus from Kurugodu to reach Bengaluru, police said.
A police officer attached to Upparpet police station in the city said, "The children landed in the city around 11:45 pm on Tuesday. Noticing their confused faces, the driver of the bus enquired about them and brought them to Upparpet police station," he said.
Immediately, the police alerted their family in Bellary and the wards were safely sent back to their respective families on Wednesday.
Observing the kids' addiction to smartphones during their summer vacation, their parents had asked them to learn new talents and skills during their holidays. Following this, the children planned to take part in the TV show.
"Migrants and runaway children are arriving in Bengaluru in huge numbers, and they have nowhere to go once they are here," a senior police officer said.
