Bengaluru: Akhila Bharata Christa Mahasabha (ABCMS) alleged irregularities in the allocation of funds meant for the Christian community in Karnataka.
ABCMS President Prajwal Swamy said that brokers and other middlemen are reportedly charging commissions amounting to 10 per cent or more. “These middlemen are involved as agents for the procedures to obtain aid from government bodies,” he said.
Chairman of Karnataka Christian Development Council (CDC) J Kennedy Shanthkumar urged churches and other Christian institutions not to entertain any middlemen while applying for grants from the government for renovation, maintenance and other expenses.
The newly-appointed Chairman thanked the Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai and former chief minister B.S. Yediyurappa instituted the Council and appealed to the state government to set up a Christian Development Corporation.
