Inaugural toy train carrying Joshi, Shettar derails

Bengaluru: The newly-inaugurated toy train, in which Union Minister Pralhad Joshi and former CM Jagadish Shettar were also travelling, derailed in Hubballi on Saturday.

The toy train was installed at Indira Glass House in the heart of Hubballi as part of the Smart City Project. Both Joshi and Shettar inaugurated the toy train and went for a joy ride. After covering a few metres, the train derailed much to the embarrassment of the authorities concerned. Luckily, no one was hurt in the mishap.

Understandably, the derailment became bigger news than the inauguration of the children’s train. The jolly ride of the dignitaries was stopped abruptly and the duo left in a huff.
