Bengaluru: The city police raided a rave party late on Sunday night in the Jeevan Bhima Nagar Police Station area, and arrested 33 people, including the organisers who are allegedly involved in selling and consuming drugs.
The police raided a club named ‘Otto’s Pub,’ based on a tip-off about drugs being procured by the organisers. According to sources, police conducted medical tests of the attendees that included students, techies and businessmen.
Deputy Commissioner of Police, East, Dr Bheemashankar S Guled, said, “A total of 51 people were caught partying, out of which 31 people were found to have consumed drugs during the medical examination,” he said.
Police seized different forms of drugs including MDMA, ecstasy pills, charas and ganja from the place. However, the cops said that most of the drug dealing had already taken place before the raid. DCP, East, said that the seized drugs were worth Rs 3 lakh.
The party organisers were identified by the police as Harikrishna and Senthil. Police are interrogating both the accused to find how they sourced the drugs. Further investigation is underway.
