Mysuru: The century-old Sri Chamarajendra Zoological Gardens in Mysuru will be getting a blank panther and jaguar from an Indian citizen settled in war-torn Ukraine who had to return due to the living conditions there.

Dr Patil who is from Andhra Pradesh, had been rearing the jaguar and black panther in Ukraine. but it became difficult for him after the situation worsened because of the continuing Russian invasion. He did not want to return to India without his two pets and wrote to the Government of India seeking shelter for them.

The government selected Mysuru zoo to accommodate them. The black panther and jaguar are expected to arrive in Mysuru zoo soon along with Dr Patil.
