Omani student hangs self to death in hostel room

Bengaluru: An Omani student studying in Bengaluru allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself in a hostel room of a private college on the outskirts of the city.

The police identified the deceased student as Abdul Azeer, 22. The incident took place within the Bagalur Police Station limits on Monday.

Abdul Azeer was reportedly a first-year BCA at Brindavan College in Bagalur.

According to the reports, Abdul Azeer was struggling with his academics and used to discuss problems with his friends. He committed suicide by hanging himself in his hostel room late at night on May 21.

The students said that when Azeer did not open the door, they had to break open on May 22 only to find his body hanging.

Based on the statements procured from the students, a case has been registered by the police regarding the incident.
