Mobile applications are the in-thing to learn yoga among the tech-savvy people across the world. Not only are these apps convenient and easy to use, but most of them are free.
Little wonder, then, that beginners who wish to take a plunge into the world of yoga opt for these apps, dumping offline yoga classes that cost anywhere between Rs 200 and Rs 400 per hour.
“Online apps are very easy to use. I don’t have to go out. It offers flexibility too. I can practice yoga even after coming back from the office at 7 pm. Such flexibility is not possible in physical classes,” says Supriya Mehta, who has been using online yoga apps for two years.
Some of the most popular yoga apps are Wyas, Asana Rebel, Glo, Calm and Prayoga. These apps provide various training routines that suit the needs of the users.
“During the lockdown, all the yoga classes were shut down. People were looking for alternate options to sit at home and practice yoga. At that time, we recorded maximum app downloads. We have programmes for people of every age group,” says Riju, a yoga instructor from Prayoga.
