Bengaluru:

Social activists and several residents protested outside the Kumaraswamy Layout police station after there were allegations that the cops had detained two women without filing any charges against them.

The reports about the incident came to light on Monday morning, following social activists and several residents demanding an explanation from the police.

However, the cops claimed that there was no unlawful activity taking place and brushed off the allegations. The police said that the women have been arrested in a robbery case and an FIR has been filed against them. The activists have further alleged that the cops have not informed the senior police officials regarding the arrest.

A senior police official said that an inquiry will be initiated in this regard and the truth will be found out soon.
