Bommai became CM by chance as well: HDK

Former Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy on Wednesday hit out at the BJP for claiming that the JD(S) senior leader had become a CM by luck, rather than merit.
He laid into the saffron party in a series of tweets, alleging that CM Basavraj Bommai did not have the mandate to rule. “Yes. I am Lucky dip CM, what now? Did your CM get the people’s mandate in the election? How can you forget that your CM is lucky too? Ask the person who was the Deputy CM in 20:20 govt on how many lucky dip CMs are there in the @BJP4Karnataka? It was me who showed the seat of power to the BJP, the party which was never in power till then,” Kumaraswamy said (sic).
“I am not ashamed to be called a lucky dip CM. On more than one occasion, I have described myself as an accidental CM. Is that lower in status than ‘Operation Kamala CM’? Tell me which is better. Forget about loopholes in the world. A look at the Prime Minister’s path, one is able to understand how many loopholes there are!” he added.
The former CM once again claimed that BJP was trying to buy lawmakers in south India because it couldn’t come to power and retain it in the region. “What is the sum and substance of ‘Mission Dakshin’? Yoga in Mysuru, churning in Hyderabad. There is none who doesn’t understand the agenda. Thanks to @JanataDal_S , You came to power in Karnataka. Had I not stopped, your leaders were ready to break away from the BJP to join hands with me,” he said.
‘BJP has family rule too’
Kumaraswamy said that BJP was notorious for dynastic politics and it was hypocritical of them to accuse JD(S) of the same. “You spoke about family rule. I have already given the list. Again for your attention: Yediyurappa and Sons, Ravi Subramany-Tejaswi Surya, Ashoka-Ravi, V Somanna-Arun Somanna, Arvind Limbavali-Raghu, SR Vishwanath - Vani Vishwanath, Jagdish Shettar - Pradeep Shettar, Murgesh Nirani - Hanumath Nirani, GS Basavaraju - Jyoti Ganesh, Jarkiholi family, Katti family, Jolle family, Angadi family, Udasi family, Sriramulu family and Reddy brothers.
“There is still more to your family dynasty. I am aware that ‘BJP is a chain-link of family politics’ should I expose the nation-wide family politics in the BJP? One can write ‘Parivarakoti’ while talking about family politics in states ruled by you,” the former CM said.
