Candidates appearing for the written exam for the post of Junior Assistants in KPTCL had a shock waiting for them when the full sleeves of their shirts were cut before they could enter the examination hall. This strange incident occurred at an examination centre in Koppal district on Sunday.

The exam was held across the state with thousands of candidates attending it to try for a government job. To check malpractices, the department had imposed certain do's and don'ts on candidates. But some candidates violated certain rules and attended the examination pleading ignorance.

One of the conditions was a ban on wearing full sleeve shirts as 'chits' with answers could be concealed and used when required. When some candidates came to the exam hall in full sleeve shirts, the exam officials gave them two options- buy and wear a half sleeve shirt or be ready to get the full sleeve cut. While some of them bought new shirts, others handed over their shirts to get the full sleeves removed. They then wore the 'cut sleeve' shirts and wrote the exam
