After egg attack, who has egg on the face, Cong or BJP?

 The political affiliation of the man who attacked the car of Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Assembly Siddaramaiah in Madikeri last week has created a big controversy.

While Congress leaders alleged that the attacker, Sampath from Virajpet belongs to the BJP, the saffron party leaders claimed that he was a Congress worker. The Congress leaders of Kodagu District produced a number of pictures of Sampath with a saffron shawl around his neck and also with BJP MLA Apachu Ranjan.

 Meanwhile, Sampath told a section of the media that he is a Congress worker but threw an egg at Siddaramaiah’s car for his alleged statement that Kodavas are beef eaters. He had claimed that first he is a Hindu and then a Congress worker.

On the other hand, Siddaramaiah tweeted three tweets questioning why the BJP arranged his (Santosh) bail if he was a Congress worker? Secondly, the BJP is involved Operation Kamala to poach MLAs of other parties but now they are poaching workers of other parties. Thirdly, if the attacker is really a Congressman, then too, he must be sent to jail without mercy.

Vijajpet MLA Apachu Ranjan asserted that Sampath is not at BJP worker. Many persons come and request for selfies at functions, public or private and likewise, Sampath may have got a picture clicked with him.

“I don’t remember seeing him at our party functions”, he added .

State BJP General secretory and MLC.N.Ravikumar accused the Congress Party of using such ‘toolkits’ to tarnish the BJP’s image with the 2023 Assembly polls aproaching.

The police has arrested three persons in connection with the egg attack on Siddaramaiah’s car and all of them are out on bail
