3-year-old boy falls into drain; body not found yet

Bengaluru: In a tragic incident, a three-year-old boy washed away in the waters after he slipped and fell into a Rajakalulve (stormwater drain) while playing during the rain with his friend near Varthur in the city on Sunday.

The deceased was identified as Kabir, son of Vinod, an executive with an app-based food aggregator, the police told News Trail.

The family resided in a temporary shed near Sobha Green apartment here. The incident came to light after Kabir’s friend alerted his parents that he had slipped into the stormwater drain while playing. After failing to find the boy, the parents and residents alerted the police.

Despite the best efforts from two teams involving the police and fire officials on Monday, the body of the boy was not found, the police said. A search operation is being carried out.
