The students are demanding that private and government vehicles that do not belong to students or staff be allowed on the campus. Lokesh, a student activist, said that the students have been demanding a ban on vehicles from entering the campus for last 10 years and still no action has been taken by the government.
“These accidents are not something new. Every month, there are at least two people who are injured due to private or government vehicles on the campus,” said Lokesh. The state government has made a promise to provide a government job to one of Shilpa’s family members and Rs 1.5 crore compensation to her family
