Bengaluru: Two brothers were brutally beaten up at gunpoint by the relatives of their landlord for objecting to the landlord insulting their mother over a trivial issue in the city. According to a complaint filed at Annapoorneshwari Nagar police station.
Kaushik Chirag had leased out a house in Sir M Vishweshwaraiah Layout, belonging to Ramachandrappa for Rs 8 lakh. However, on October 30, Ramachandrappa visited the house along with his grandson, Bharath, during Chirag’s absence and allegedly demanded Chirag’s mother vacate the house.
As she had denied it, the landlord and his grandson had warned her of the consequences and left. The next day, when Kaushik found out about the issue, he called up Bharath and tried to reason with him. Later around 3:20 pm on the same day, Kaushik along with his brother Nandan, met Bharath at the Royal Borewell Services office near Muddinapalya Main Road.
It was found that the office belonged to Bharath’s brother-in-law, Anil. As soon as the brothers reached the office, they were allegedly attacked by a group of five to six people including Anil, with iron rods. During the attack, Anil allegedly took out a pistol and pointed at them threatening to kill them if they acted smart.
The complaint alleged that the duo were dragged by the assailants and beaten up on the road. A complaint was filed later regarding the incident at the jurisdictional police station following which three persons have been arrested for attempt-to-murder. However, according to sources, Anil and several others are on the run.
