‘Why do ministers not get their treatment done at govt hospital’?
Activists who protest against the Health Minister on the death of pregnant woman with twins, says ‘people who are responsible for the hospital, don’t go there for treatment’

Bengaluru: Karnataka Rashtra Samithi Party organised a protest against Dr. K. Sudhakar, minister of Health and Family Welfare and Medical Education of Karnataka.
The activists held a protest at Freedom Park on Monday, after Kasturi, a 30-year-old widow, and her just-born twins died due to the negligence of doctors after she had been turned away from a government hospital in Tumakuru during her labour for not having an Aadhaar card and other documents with her.
Activists from the KRS party say that the health minister should be held responsible for the accident. “Is there a record of politicians being treated in government hospitals? We don’t think so. No minister gets their treatment done in a government hospital; they rather prefer to get their treatment in a fancy private hospital.
This clearly shows the pathetic condition of government hospitals in the state, that people who are responsible for the hospital, don’t go there,” said Ravi Krishna Reddy of KRS. Activists also allege that even after the woman died, the government has not taken any strict action.
“The woman died due to the negligence of doctors and the health minister. These ministers are unfit for their roles and they should resign,” said Mahalaxmi of the KRS party
