Bengaluru:
The recent success of films, where a dog played a prominent role; Naanu Mattu Gunda and 777 Charlie are fresh in the minds of Kannada film audiences. On the back of this successful run comes one more film where a dog plays the lead role. The trailer of the new film, Dove Master, was released on Monday by former chief minister Siddaramaiah.
The film is directed by newcomer Arya and apart from Rocky, the dog stars Tabala Nani, Shakeela, Kuri Prathap and Naveen Padil. Speaking about the film, Tabala Nani said, “The story is the first hero of this film. The second hero is our Rocky. The rest of the actors come later,” he said. “This is in reality a very sentimental film.
There is of course fun and entertainment, but at the core it is a sentimental film which explores the relationship between a man and his dog. I play the dog owner who is very attached to his dog. But a situation arises where he has no option but to give it up. The story revolves around how these two come to terms with it,” Nani explained.
Former CM Siddaramaiah who launched the trailer of the film was amused when he was welcomed by the film team along with Rocky. But he was impressed after watching the performance of Rocky in the trailer. “Dover Master is a unique title. I had never heard of a film title like this before. I wish the film’s producer, director, actor Nani and Rocky the dog all the very best. I am happy with this trailer.”
